According to research conducted by the Chartered Institute for Personal Development, criticisms of traditional approaches to performance reviews are:
They aren’t frequent enough.
They focus on past performance with little attention paid to future performance improvement, learning and development.
Assessments are too subjective and not a reliable reflection of actual performance, especially if they use ‘forced ranking’ or ‘guided distribution’ ratings (that is, a fixed proportion of employees must be rated as high or low performers).
Feedback often comes from a single source (the line manager) which can give too narrow a view.
The process is excessively bureaucratic, time consuming and demotivating.

What does it do?
ForMi consists of a ‘social media” style app that enables people to quickly capture achievements in text, picture and video posts. These posts can be tagged against goals which provides a rich timeline of achievement, helping managers and the individual to review progression.
Feedback can be providing easily either by liking posts or commenting on them, enabling the people who are supporting the individual, to provide timely feedback and support.
But it is more than just an app! The control panel lets managers set goals and actions, rate progress and record meetings easily and effectively. Individual’s goals can be tagged back to company goals supporting a common vision and direction.
